Recipe: Strawberry Pie

Strawberries are delicious and versatile fruits, loved around the world for their sweet flavor and juicy texture. In Brazil, they are cultivated in different regions of the country, with emphasis on areas with a milder climate, such as mountainous and subtropical regions. 

Brazilian strawberries are known for their quality and striking flavor, used in a variety of recipes that delight the most demanding palates. One of the most popular ways to enjoy these fruits is through a delicious pie, which combines the freshness of strawberries with a crunchy pastry and delicious cream. Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 200g Maria biscuits
  • 100g melted butter

For the filling:

  • 500g fresh strawberries, washed and cut in half
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 1 can of heavy cream
  • Juice from 2 lemons
  • 1 envelope of unflavored colorless gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons of water

Method of preparation

  1. Start by preparing the pie dough. Grind the biscuits until you get crumbs. Then, mix the biscuit crumbs with the melted butter until a homogeneous dough is formed.
  2. Line the bottom and sides of a springform pan with the dough, pressing well to make it compact. Place the pan in the preheated oven at 180°C for approximately 10 minutes, or until the dough is lightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool.
  3. While the dough is cooling, prepare the filling. Dissolve the colorless gelatin in 3 tablespoons of hot water, according to the instructions on the package.
  4. In a blender, blend the condensed milk, cream and lemon juice until you obtain a homogeneous cream. Add the dissolved gelatin and blend again for a few seconds.
  5. Place half of the cut strawberries on the cold dough, forming an even layer. Pour the cream over the strawberries, covering the entire surface of the pie.
  6. Decorate the pie with the remaining strawberries.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the cream is firm.

Once chilled, your strawberry pie will be ready to be served and enjoyed! Serve chilled and enjoy this irresistible dessert.
