Jabuticaba: Brazilian Fruit Ranks Among the World’s Top 100
Jabuticaba is now among the world’s top 100 best-rated fruits, according to a ranking released by TasteAtlas, a platform renowned as a true gastronomic encyclopedia. The Brazilian fruit was highlighted in the TOP 10, placing eighth on the list.
The site describes jabuticaba as “a typical Brazilian fruit, native to the states of Minas Gerais, Goiás, and São Paulo. It has a dark purple color, a thick skin, and the fruits grow directly on the tree trunks.”
Rich in anthocyanin, a pigment present in the skin and pulp, jabuticaba offers protective benefits to the body, helping to neutralize free radicals. It is also a source of minerals such as potassium and phosphorus, and contains B-complex vitamins and a good amount of fiber, essential for proper intestinal function. Studies indicate that this nutrient combination may promote heart health by helping balance cholesterol levels.
