Fruticultores brasileiros vão à Alemanha participar da maior feira mundial de frutas
With the advancement of the Covid vaccine on a global scale, Brazilian fruit growers are going to Germany to participate in the largest fruit fair in the world, FRUIT LOGISTICA 2022 . The action is organized by the Brazilian Association of Producers and Exporters of Fruits and Derivatives (ABRAFRUTAS) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), through the FRUTAS DO BRASIL project.
The Fair, which will take place from April 5th to 7th of this year, in Berlin, brought together more than 3,300 exhibitors from 91 countries in the last in-person event in 2020 with the presentation of products, services and technical solutions.
Brazil will be represented by 50 exporting companies associated with Abrafrutas and all of them will be located in Hall 23 of Messe Berlin, stands B01 and B02. Considered as access to large commercial deals, Brazilian exporters say they are confident and point out that this year they will take even more advantage of the opportunities to sign new business.
During the days of the event, the Brazil Stand will receive a visit from the Brazilian ambassador to Germany, Roberto Jaguaribe, and representatives from Banco do Brasil SA, from the Frankfurt branch, which is one of the oldest foreign banks in Germany.
For the president of Abrafrutas, Guilherme Coelho, the face-to-face resumption of events such as Fruit Logistica is very important, as it facilitates networking among the main players in this sector. Guilherme also reinforces the growth of Brazilian fruit growing and its positioning as a major global competitor in the production of very high quality fruit.
“WE WENT THROUGH VERY DIFFICULT TIMES DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, BUT AT NO TIME DID WE STOP PRODUCING OUR FRUITS AND GENERATING THOUSANDS OF JOBS. THE CHALLENGES FACED REINFORCE HOW WELL WE ARE PREPARED TO OFFER THE WORLD MARKET HIGH QUALITY FRUIT. IN ADDITION, WE HAVE POSITIONED OURSELVES AS A MAJOR FRUIT SUPPLIER MARKET, AS IN OUR COUNTRY THERE ARE FRUITS PRODUCED ALL YEAR ROUND”, SAID THE ASSOCIATION’S PRESIDENT.
Luiz Roberto Barcelos, director of Agrícola Famosa, the largest melon exporting company in the country, a veteran of participation in fairs, says that despite all the uncertain post-pandemic scenario, the crisis caused by the war between Russia and Ukraine, which affected demands such as such as the demand for fertilizers, higher freight rates, logistical embarrassments and others, the Fair will be a great opportunity to address these issues as well.
“THIS IS ONE OF THE OLDEST AND MOST IMPORTANT FAIRS IN THE SECTOR, BEING A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO DO NEW BUSINESS AND STRENGTHEN AGREEMENTS WITH CUSTOMERS ALREADY SIGNED. IN THREE DAYS WE WILL MEET WITH ALMOST ALL CUSTOMERS, IT REALLY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FAIR AND WE WILL BE THERE WITH THIS GREAT POST-PANDEMIC CHALLENGE THAT WILL GIVE US THE OPPORTUNITY TO TALK A LOT WITH LOGISTICS COMPANIES, MARITIME TRANSPORT, PACKAGING, FERTILIZERS AND ETC.” , SAID BARCELONA.
Present for eleven years at this great event, representatives of the Gold Fruit company say that expectations are the best possible. For them, participating again in Fruitlogistica and having the opportunity to talk to new customers “ face to face” is very important to further promote business, especially at this time of crisis generated by the war, in which they stopped supplying fruit to the market. Russian.
“THE IMPACTS OF THE WAR HAVE BEEN SEEN IN VARIOUS SECTORS AND THIS HAS DIRECTLY AFFECTED US. AGRICULTURAL INPUTS AND FUEL, FOR EXAMPLE, MADE PRICES SOAR AROUND THE WORLD. “WE WILL HAVE MANY DIFFICULTIES IN PASSING ON THIS INCREASE IN COSTS TO OUR CUSTOMERS”, EXPLAINED MÁRIO OTSUKA, CEO OF GOLD FRUIT.
During the fair, Abrafrutas will promote the Cook Demostration, an action that aims to present to European distributors, retailers and consumers the varieties of Brazilian fruits and the various ways of consuming them. This action will have the participation of renowned Brazilian chef Luciana Berry, star of Londrina gastronomy, who will make special recipes integrated with European cuisine.
FRUIT LOGISTICA is the main trade fair for the global horticultural trade and represents the entire value chain of the sector, from production to the point of sale. This year, the organizers expect to receive around 2000 exhibitors from 80 countries.
