Brazilian delegation with 45 producers arrives in Berlin for Fruit Logistica 2023 with the support of Frutas do Brasil
Between February 8th and 10th, the city of Berlin will host Fruit Logistica, the largest international fruit fair in the world. During these three days, importers who will be at the corridors of the German event will have the opportunity to discover a wide variety of Brazilian fruits, ranging from grapes to melons.
Frutas do Brasil – the export program of the Brazilian Association of Producers and Exporters of Fruit and Derivatives (Abrafrutas), with the support from the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) – will promote the participation of a delegation composed of 46 companies in the event. Among them are export producers, packaging service providers, inputs, etc. Brazil’s pavilion is located in Hall 23 of Messe Berlin, at stands B01 and B21.
“Our expectations concerning Brazil’s participation in this year’s Fruit Logistica 2023 are the best ones. We’ll have a very diverse delegation of fruit growers, who will present the best in our production to show the world. It will be an excellent opportunity to do business and open new frontiers for Brazilian agribusiness abroad,” comments Abrafrutas’ project manager, Jorge de Souza.
According to Jorge the meetings during the fair in the 2022 edition were very intense. Even with a much smaller audience at the time, due to the pandemic, all participants were people related to the area and who were very interested in doing business. Exporters ended the event with the expectation of generating around USD 80 million with fruit exports during the year.
“Our enthusiasm for the 2023 edition is very much based on last year’s experience which, even though was the first fair after the return to in-person meetings, managed to bring together 88 nations and high quality importers with an interest in our products”, he concluded.
Brazil on the world map
According to Abrafrutas, Brazil exported around 980.4 thousand tons of fruit last year. Approximately $956 million was raised in revenue.
