Fruit Attraction: Brazil is attending the Spanish event with a delegation made up of 40 fruit growers
From October 3rd to 5th, the city of Madrid, in Spain, will host all of Brazilian fruit’s flavors during Fruit Attraction. The event, which will gather a delegation made up of 40 Brazilian fruit and derivatives export companies, is one of the most important fruit export events in the world.
Besides supporting the companies participating in the fair, Frutas do Brasil — the export program of the Brazilian Association of Fruit and Derivatives Producers and Exporters (Abrafrutas), with the support from the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) — will also promote Brazil’s stand at the event, at pavilion 4, stand 4C12, which will feature a schedule fulfilled with activities.
The schedule includes a Brazilian fruit tasting session, made by the chef duo Luciana Berry and César Scolari, and many moments suitable for business. Anyone who has the opportunity to stop by Brazil’s spot at the event, will meet producers of the tastiest grapes, mangoes, melons, bananas, avocados and many others.
“Expectations for Fruit Attraction are high. This year’s delegation is diverse, strong, and represents Brazilian production very well to the global market. Furthermore, the event has never been so big: according to the organization, the expected audience is up to 90 thousand people from 137 countries”, explains Jorge de Souza, project manager at ABRAFRUTAS.
Lígia Falanghe Carvalho, Jaguacy Brasil’s representative, is also excited for the event: “Spain is our main client. At the fair, we’ll discuss our trajectory in 2023, understand the improvements we should plan for 2024 and align the upcoming harvest”, she quoted. The company’s main product is fresh avocado, but it also works with pulp and guacamole. According to Lígia, this was the best year in export volume, breaking the record of 389 containers, a factor that further raises the company’s expectations in relation to Fruit Attraction.
For Anibal Campos, from Agrivale, the fair takes place at perfect timing, as it will be held at a period close to the market shift from grapes produced in Europe to imported grapes. “As the European market is often volatile, the decision to invest more or less in this market will depend a lot on what we hear and feel from customers and partners during the several scheduled meetings at the fair”, says the Brazilian grape producer.
For Maria Clara Fabiano, from Campal Frutas, to participate in the fair goes far beyond trading and exhibiting Brazilian fruits. “It’s always great to talk to our customers and friends, share expectations and experiences about the next harvest, present our work and discuss new businesses and projections. We hope it will be another very successful year, in which we can attract new customers and partners to our business”, says Maria, who is responsible for the company’s commercial sector.
