Brazilian delegation from Frutas do Brasil is present at Asia Fruit Logistica
A group of Brazilian companies participating in Frutas do Brasil – an internationalization project by the Brazilian Association of Fruit and Derivative Producers and Exporters (Abrafrutas) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) – is present at Asia Fruit Logistica.
The prestigious fair will take place on September 4, 5 and 6 and will bring together fruit producers from all over the world in Hong Kong, China. The annual event is considered a milestone in the global fresh produce industry in Asia. On the occasion, Frutas do Brasil will have its own stand inside Asia Fruit Logistica to promote networking and the possibility of exporting Brazilian products to Asia, building solid and credible business relationships.
The stand will feature producers of a wide range of fruits, such as melons, grapes, mangoes, avocados, and lemons, as well as samples to be displayed and tasted by the international public. So far, the companies Frutas Cone, Xportare, Frutoeste, Fermac, and MBR Company have confirmed their presence. The support structure will be 36m², with five tables for meetings, a warehouse for storing products, and a translator to assist exhibitors and visitors. According to Jorge de Souza, international projects manager at Abrafrutas, expectations for the event include expanding trade relations, consolidating the companies’ image, and creating new business opportunities. “It’s the ideal opportunity to bring together exporters and importers from one of the most important regions for selling Brazilian fruit,” he says.
In addition to participating in the event, the delegation of Frutas do Brasil producers will conduct technical visits to learn about the local fruit market and distribution. Visits to wholesale centers, markets and convenience stores are planned in order to better understand how fruit trade and consumption among Asian consumers work.
Alexandre Duarte, executive director of Fermac, emphasizes that Asian importers and consumers are very demanding, both in terms of quality and commitments and deadlines. Therefore, being punctual and keeping one’s word is extremely important to build a long-lasting professional and commercial relationship. In this sense, Asia Fruit Logistica allows Brazilian producers to have direct contact with strategic partners, learn about the culture of Asian consumers and what they look for in the supermarket: “Participating in the fair is extremely important because during this week you get to experience their daily lives. Shaking hands and looking them in the eye increases your credibility. It is extremely important, it is a must.”
