Recipe: Tangerine Cake

  • 3 tangerines
  • 4 eggs
  • ¾ cup of oil
  • 1 ½ cups of sugar
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder


  1. Carefully wash the tangerines and cut them in half.
  2. Remove all the seeds, which, despite being small, are numerous.
  3. Take out the central white part and place two whole, peeled tangerines in the blender.
  4. Use only the juice of the last tangerine.
  5. Set aside the baking powder and add all the other ingredients to the blender.
  6. Blend thoroughly to ensure the tangerine is completely crushed.
  7. Add the baking powder last.
  8. Pour the mixture into a greased and floured pan, at least 22 cm in diameter and 8 cm in height, as the cake will rise, resulting in a fluffy texture.
  9. Bake in the oven at 180°C for approximately 45 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown.
