Jaguacy: Brazilian excellence in avocado production
Located in Bauru, in the interior of São Paulo, Avocado Jaguacy is a national and international reference in the production and sale of avocados. With 50 years of history, the company stands out for its dedication to growing and processing high-quality fruits, following strict certification and food safety standards.
The company is a participant in the Frutas do Brasil project — an internationalization program promoted by the Brazilian Association of Fruit and Derivatives Exporting Producers (Abrafrutas) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) — and has stood out in the production of avocado, avocado pulp and guacamole in recent years.
Innovation is a fundamental pillar at Jaguacy. Its factory is equipped with advanced technologies, including metal detectors, automatic filling and sealing systems, and a high-pressure machine, one of the only ones in Brazil, that minimizes microbiological risks. The entire process is audited by YUM! certification, ensuring safe and high quality products.
To maintain high productivity, the company invests in the future with its nursery, which produces 100,000 seedlings annually. This nursery not only meets the needs of the farm itself, but also supports associated producers, strengthening the entire avocado production chain.
Sustainability
The company adopts sustainable agricultural practices, using biodefensive products to preserve the soil and ensure the intelligent use of natural resources. In addition, they also implement innovative biotechnological solutions, such as the use of microwasps and drones to control pests, and the cultivation of beneficial bacteria to enrich the soil.
The focus on research and development is evident at Jaguacy. The company has a biofactory where specialized technicians and professionals work on growing the fruit. The creation of a microwasp to combat pests and the use of georeferenced drones to disperse them are examples of the advanced technology used to guarantee the health of plantations.
The Jaguacy packing house is a model of efficiency and technology. Equipped with modern classification, weighing and packaging systems, it has the capacity to process up to 200 tons of fruit per day, the equivalent of eight containers. All processes are accompanied by strict quality control, ensuring that each fruit meets the highest standards before reaching the consumer.
Commitment to the employees
At Jaguacy, caring for people is a priority. The company adopts a participatory management system, with high technical qualifications among its employees. Women occupy prominent positions, representing 50% of board and management positions, and 45% of harvest employees. Furthermore, Jaguacy promotes social responsibility policies, positively impacting the lives of the people and communities involved.
Certifications
The numerous certifications are a testament to its commitment to quality and safety. From GLOBALG.A.P., which certifies good agricultural practices, to specific audits for brands such as Carrefour and Taco Bell, each seal reinforces consumers’ trust in the Jaguacy brand. Kosher certification also highlights the company as a supplier of foods that follow strict Jewish dietary laws.
