5 most exported fruits by Brazil: learn more about each of them

Brazil is one of the leading fruit producers in the world, with an incredible variety of products that conquer international markets.

And to draw a picture of which Brazilian fruits are reaching homes in global cities, we have separated the five most exported fruits by the country in 2023, according to data provided by the Brazilian Association of Fruit and Derivative Exporters (Abrafrutas).

All these delicious fruits can be found through producers and exporters participating in the Frutas do Brasil project — an internationalization program promoted by the Brazilian Association of Fruit and Derivative Exporters (Abrafrutas) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

  1. Mangoes

Brazilian mangoes have conquered the global market with their irresistible sweetness and variety of flavors and were the most exported fruit by the country. In 2023, more than 266 thousand tons of mangoes were exported, consolidating Brazil as one of the main global suppliers of this tropical fruit. 

2. Melons

Brazilian melons are known for their juiciness and delicious aroma. With over 228 thousand tons exported in 2023, Brazil continues to be one of the main producers and exporters of melons worldwide, meeting high international demand. 

3. Lemons and limes

Brazilian lemons and limes are widely valued worldwide for their unique citrus flavor and culinary versatility. Additionally, lemon was considered the healthiest fruit in the world, according to research by William Paterson University. In 2023, more than 166 thousand tons of these fruits were exported, demonstrating Brazil’s significant position in the global citrus market. 

4. Watermelons

Brazilian watermelons are a popular choice due to their sweet and refreshing pulp, perfect for hot summer days. With over 114 thousand tons exported in 2023, Brazil continues to meet international demand for this refreshing fruit.

5. Grapes

Brazilian grapes are appreciated for their exceptional quality and delicious taste. Although ranking fifth, with over 73 thousand tons exported in 2023, Brazilian grapes continue to play an important role in the global fruit market. 

Brazil continues to stand out as one of the leading fruit producers and exporters in the world, providing a wide variety of fresh and high-quality products to consumers worldwide. With favorable climate and advanced cultivation techniques, the country is well positioned to maintain its position as one of the leaders in the fruit market in the coming years.
