Last year, Brazil set a record in fruit exports: total fresh fruit sales achieved US$ 735 million, a performance around US$ 100 million higher than 2014. The Brazilian Fruit Growers-Exporters Association (Abrafrutas) has celebrated the good moment, and a large delegation of those growers will be present at the largest trade fair in the sector, Fruit Logistica, which will take place 3-5 February in Berlin, Germany.

Sixteen different companies will join the Brazilian booth, offering several tropical fruit species such as melons, watermelons, pineapples, papaya, limes, oranges, mangoes, bananas, avocados and also some temperate fruits such as apples and grapes. The public will be able to taste the products, confirming the top quality of the fruits produced in the country gifted by the sun.

Brazilian participation in Fruit Logistica is part of the Frutas do Brasil Project, a partnership between Abrafrutas and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) which seeks to promote Brazilian fruit exports. As the third largest country in fruit production worldwide, there is a great and coordinated effort between growers and the Brazilian government in order to show foreign fruit consumers how competitive the country is from the standpoints of product quality, production reliability and commercial flexibility.
